Two racer back bras, two fabrics
We make two racer back bras: a racerback sports bra in at least 60% recycled nylon, and a cotton bralette made with 91% organic cotton. Both use the same wide racer back, and between them they cover most of what the cut is good for.
What is a racer back bra?
A racer back bra has straps that angle inward and meet between the shoulder blades, instead of running straight down from each cup. The back becomes a single piece, usually a Y or a T, and the straps sit closer to the neck than on a standard bra. You will see it written as a racerback bra, a racing back bra or simply a racer bra. The straps draw in toward the spine, which is where all three names come from. It is the shape to wear under a racerback vest, where straight straps would show.
The racer back sports bra
The Active Racer Back Bra is built for medium-impact training, in at least 60% recycled nylon with elastane for stretch. Wear it for a class or a run, or under everyday clothes when you want something sportier. It is the one of the two cut for movement rather than for sitting still.
The cotton one
The Flex Racer Back Bralette pulls on over your head, with no hook and no wire. It is made with 91% organic cotton and a little elastane, in a wide racer back, and it gives flexible support rather than lift. That is what makes this racer back bralette the everyday choice.
Other backs and other necklines
If the racer back is not the shape you want, our scoop bras have a wider neckline, our triangle bras cut to a point, and our wireless bras skip the underwire altogether. All of them sit on the bras page.
Sizing and the colour range
Nearly every style comes in XXS to XXXL. Between the two bras the colours are Black, Cranberry, Night Sky, Pink, Soft Breeze, Summer Wine and Walnut. Machine wash cold and skip the tumble dryer. Our materials page explains how we choose fabrics.
